Producer Post 3: Week 8 Homework. All Masks Finished.

At this point, all masks are finished. I’ve been debating using color film and developing the photos in the darkroom. I will most likely try it out, take pictures in film, develop, and see how quickly it moves. If it takes too long or I feel that the film is limiting me, then I’ll do digital. I will try taking both film and digital photographs over the weekend.

Here are the finished masks:

Intro/Extro Mask:

This mask will be held on by the extremely long fabric ribbon. The ribbon will be wrapped around the face so that it blends in with the actual mask and background. The background is the extra sequins material, it has been painted with a deep blue and yellow wash.

Machine Mask:

I attached wires to the mask that wrap around the head and can be twisted together to keep the mask on. The wires are twistable for aesthetics in the photo. I may put this one in either a suit and tie or have them by electrical boxes on a building.

Side View:

Vanity Mask:

I’ve repainted around the eyes and mouth. The mask will be tied on with the pink sequin ribbons. The model may be wearing pink hair clips as well. The photo for this will include a mirror and the mask looking into it.

Comedian Mask:

This mask is held by the long red handle off the chin.

The Art Mask:

With the ribbons untied, the model will hold them out to the sides and in front of their face. I will have them in front of a mound of artwork.

Nature Mask:

Attached to a stick.
